In January, the Camden-Wyoming Rotary Club presented books collected during the Holiday season to Caring Hearts Helping Hands (CHHH) located in Magnolia, DE. The C-W Rotary Club has been an ongoing supporter of this wonderful organization. Over many years, we’ve sponsored families at Christmas/holiday time, provided school supplies and financial assistance for their back-to-school program, and for the last 2-years collected books to be distributed to each child on their birthday.

Here’s more about this great charity from the CHHH website:

CHHH is a non-profit 501 (c)(3) organization started by six women in October 2002. Our mission is to provide assistance to struggling working families in Kent County, DE by supplying holiday gifts, back to school needs (book bags packed with age-appropriate supplies), shoe certificates, as well as new and gently used clothing and household items as needed throughout the year.

We maintain a warehouse where client families can come shop once a month throughout the year at no cost. We depend on community donations of new and gently used items and funding. We also give a new gift for each child's birthday.

We have no paid staff; we are all volunteers. Even our warehouse and electricity are donated. CHHH has two special programs each year centered on back-to-school (Heart and Sole) and Christmas/holiday that serve approximately 100-125 low-income working families.

On January 8, 2020, the Camden-Wyoming Rotary Club donated $250.00 towards a Rotary Global Grant Fund Project to purchase hospital beds for the Rand Memorial Hospital on Grand Bahama Island (Freeport). The area was hit with a category 5 hurricane over the 2019 Labor Day weekend. Through matching grants, our $250 will grow to $875!

The Camden- Wyoming Rotary Club of Camden Wyoming, Delaware and the Seward Rotary Club Of Seward, Nebraska participated in this project together.

Our Flag Display Program had another FANTASTIC year in 2018. The number of our neighbors and friends that subscribed to the program grew to nearly 300!

Because of the great community support, the Camden-Wyoming Rotary Club was able to award $8,000 in scholarshipsin 2018. We hope to continue that level of scholarship giving in 2019 with your support.

We would be honored to serve you in 2019 with our new and improved Flag Display Program. The program this year focuses on the Memorial Day Holiday. Your Flag will be placed on Thursday and retrieved the following Tuesday. You'll be able to enjoy your flag over the whole holiday!

This year we also have 2 options for where to display your flag. You may choose to have it displayed in your front yard or at Brecknock Park. Or, perhaps, you'd like to sponsor 2 flags. One in each location!

If you moved away, please select Refer a Friend to share this program with others.  Of course, we would be happy to have you refer a friend even if you didn't move away.

One of the projects of the Camden-Wyoming Rotary Club is to promote literacy by providing dictionaries to third graders for their personal use. Club members visited all the third grade classes in the Caesar Rodney school district and gave dictionaries to the students. These pictures are from Allen Frear Elementary on 12/18/18.
