RI Signature Project:

Polio Eradication

We are especially dedicated to ending polio in our lifetimes.  Rotary members have persevered in this fight since 1979 and have now helped eradicate polio in all but three countries worldwide.

Rotary began fighting polio nearly 30 years ago, and although our work has reduced the number of cases of the disease by 99 percent worldwide, new outbreaks and dangerous conditions make the total eradication of polio a constant challenge.

When you give to Rotary, you support the work we do in your community and around the world. We are a responsible organization that uses nearly 90% of our funding for program expenses.

Give
To help raise much-needed funds and public awareness for the global effort to eradicate polio, Rotary has collected more than 100,000 messages of support from celebrities, world leaders, and regular “folks next door,” all of whom have added their names and photos to “The World’s Biggest Commercial,” an ever-growing public service announcement on the End Polio Now website that also received Guinness World Record recognition as Largest Photo Awareness Campaign.
This is the song written by Jerry Mills which was inspired by RI President Ray Klinginsmith and the work of Rotarians worldwide.
